So over the holidays I did a bunch of sketches which I gave a way to friends as gifts, and I noticed some habits that I have when I'm drawing.
One in particular was that I really don't like erasing something after I've drawn it. Even if it's not exactly like I wanted it I would leave it because I was afraid that if I erased it I wouldn't be able to re-draw it.
Luckily, I realized very quickly that this was foolish of me. I mean if I drew it once I could draw it again, right?! So thats what I kept telling myself while I was drawing, and it actually helped.
I started erasing things that I didn't like and re-drawing them in different ways, and what do you know! My art improved, and not just my art. I'd say that my drawing skills have improved too.
So there you have it. I guess the lesson is to have confidence in yourself. And if you don't like the way a drawing turns out, re-draw it. You can always change it back, and your skills will only improve.
And thats the end. Bye.
PS: Those sketches I mentioned will be posed here eventually. I just gotta color and shade and other stuff first.
